Seams may go any direction, but most sewing projects are cut so that the main seams go parallel with the lines of the weave. Place the pins perpendicular to the line where the seam will go. You can sew right over straight pins, and still remove them later with no damage to the machine, the fabric, or the pins.
This should already be marked on your machine's "throat plate" . Use the hand wheel to move the needle to its highest position. If the thread pulls back when you try to remove the fabric, check the needle position. Do not force the material or pull the material while it is going under the needle. This can cause the material to stretch or the needle to break, or the stitches to clog up in the bobbin. If you feel like the fabric is not moving fast enough, press the foot pedal harder, adjust the stitch length, or buy a faster machine.

The key to fixing issues with the bobbin is to make sure you have wound it right and that you have put it in the correct position. Also, you cannot use metal bobbins in Brother machines that are not made for metal bobbins. If the machine comes with a plastic one that is what you replace it with.
There are several factors to consider when choosing the correct size of your sewing machine needle. With our free programme CanvasWorkspace, you can create endless personalised designs and save them to your machine’s memory to use time and again. Where you want to turn the corner, lower the needle all the way into the fabric. Then, Rotate the fabric to the new position, leaving the needle in it. Finally, lower the presser foot with the fabric in the new position and resume sewing. While you're looking at the fabric, notice which way the fabric itself goes.

This machine does include a reverse button for backstitching, but it also has a stitch reinforcement function. When selected, the machine sews over the same stitch multiple times as an alternative to backstitching, which can result in a nicer-looking start to your seams. You can quickly make small adjustments to your design directly on the machine’s display, such as changing the size, orientation, thread colors, thread density, and more. Find printing solutions that integrate with your specific workflows, help increase productivity, and generally make daily work simpler. If not, then clean the machine and then turn the sewing machine back on.
This is located in different places depending on the sewing machine you have, but is normally on the right side of the body. The spool of thread resides on the top of the sewing machine, but must be unwound and attached to the needle. To do this, take the thread and pull it through the thread guide at the top, and then down and around the takeup lever.
Then the bobbin may not be threaded right or the bobbin area is not clean. Redo the bobbin and clean its area if this is where the problem lies. These are just some of the sources of this problem. It is possible that you are holding on to the needle thread too tightly and you would need to relax your grip to solve this problem.
Or the top thread could be tangled and you would have to stop and untangle it. There are several causes of this problem situation. First, the top thread may not have been threaded correctly so stop what you are ding and double-check to make sure it is threaded right.

Some feet are attached by simply hooking it back onto the arm. Others have small levers behind the spot where the foot attaches. It really depends on the machine, but those will be the two most common methods.
You are looking for scratches and if the bobbin has them you have to replace it. If it is you can move on to the next place to check and that would be the needle bar thread guide. The needle thread has to be behind the needle bar thread guide. Third, you need to check the thread to see if it is knotted or tangled. Fourth, the thread may be too large for the needle. Top loading or Quick Set bobbin system on Brother machines cannot receive a metal bobbin at any time.

The next most common stitch is the zigzag, usually used to prevent edges from fraying. The feed dog (silly name, right?) is a small metal guide under the presser foot on the needle plate that moves the fabric through the machine as you sew. You can find it by looking for the two small metal rows underneath the presser foot.
